Pricing Questions

What does the $150 intake fee cover?
The intake fee is a one-time charge paid at the start of your case. It covers your initial intake call, case file setup, review of your court order, and assignment of a TruVisit-certified supervisor. You pay this once — it does not recur.
How does the report pricing work?
Your first two session reports per calendar month are included at no charge. After that, additional reports are $25 each. Most clients need one report per session, so for families with two visits per month, reports are fully covered.
Is there a minimum session length?
Sessions have a 2-hour minimum at $65 per hour, so the minimum session cost is $130. Additional time beyond the first two hours is billed in one-hour increments. Most court-ordered visits range from two to three hours depending on the order. We will always confirm the session length in advance with both parties.
Who pays — custodial or non-custodial parent?
Payment responsibility is typically outlined in your court order. Many orders specify that the non-custodial parent is responsible for supervision costs. We work with whatever arrangement your order dictates and can discuss payment logistics during your intake call.
Do you offer payment plans?
We understand that family court proceedings are expensive. Please discuss your situation with our intake coordinator — we will do our best to work with you on a schedule that keeps your case moving forward.

FAQ

Common Questions About Supervised Visitation in Portland, Maine

Can't find your answer? Reach out through our online intake form — we're happy to walk you through the process.

Get Started
What is supervised visitation and do I need it?
Supervised visitation means a neutral professional is present during contact between a child and a parent. In Maine, it's ordered in parental rights and responsibilities cases heard in the District Court's Family Division when there are safety concerns or a relationship being rebuilt under monitored conditions. If your order — or the case management plan set by your family law magistrate — calls for supervised contact, you'll need a qualified provider like TruVisit.
How do I get started with TruVisit Portland?
Begin with our online intake form and have your court order or interim order available. We review the requirements, collect the $150 intake fee, assign a certified supervisor, and typically activate your case within 48 to 72 hours. A $300 expedited intake is available if a hearing date is close.
Where do visits take place in the Portland area?
At neutral community venues agreed to by both parties and approved by TruVisit — parks and trails in the warmer months, plus libraries, indoor play spaces, and family-friendly restaurants year-round, from the Portland peninsula to Scarborough, Gorham, and down to Biddeford and Saco.
Are your reports accepted by the Maine District Court?
Yes. TruVisit session reports are objective, timestamped, and prepared to meet the documentation expectations of the Maine District Court's Family Division. They're used by attorneys, family law magistrates, and guardians ad litem in cases handled at the Cumberland County courthouse complex.
What if my court order requires specific documentation?
Tell us during intake exactly what the order or magistrate requires and we'll conform our reporting to it, including any formatting preferences your attorney or GAL has.
Can my attorney contact TruVisit directly?
Yes. Maine counsel and GALs can contact us online to discuss a case, request reports, or coordinate documentation — included at no extra charge on every case.
What happens if a session needs to be rescheduled?
Reach out to your coordinator as soon as you know. We'll work with both parties and the supervisor to reset the session, and we ask for at least 24 hours notice whenever possible.
